Wiring Services
Cable and Wiring

TNS designs, installs, maintains, and modifies inter-building and intra-building cable/wiring networks for all University-owned and select University affiliated properties. Cable/wiring projects tend to fall into one of four categories:

  1. TNS infrastructure upgrades where the expense is paid through central funds
  2. New construction and renovations where the expense is charged to a particular project budget
  3. Occupant requested upgrades initiated by an administrative or academic unit with the expenses charged to a departmental budget. Depending on the nature of the request, both installation and recurring charges may be applicable.
  4. Private fiber installations and use. Use of University fiber is considered "private" if the use of the fiber creates a dedicated point-to-point link between separate buildings to create a private network.

TNS System Maintenance Policy also applies to Cable and Wiring designs.
