University Park Voice Mail & Single Digit Menu (Octel Based)

For those users who have not converted to the VoIP based voice services, the "Octel" based voicemail and Single Digit Menu (SDM) services, available at the University Park Campus, supports those users receiving voice services via the legacy administrative Centrex phone service. Under this service, a customer could have a traditional voice mail box associated with their phone number. In addition, a customer can utilize this service to establish a single digit menu in order for callers to be routed to other mailboxes or staff.

If you have a question about this service or would like to make a request to add, change or terminate this service please contact TNS at (814) 865-1696 or submit your request through the Service Inquiry Form.

SDM Features & Functions

A Single-Digit Menu (SDM) is a special voice mail application that allows a caller to hear a "menu" of various recordings by choice. Upon hearing a voice greeting that has been pre-recorded, the caller can push a single number to be transferred to hear specific information associated with the topic selected or to a specific extension. SDM's enable quick and efficient call processing for departments who experience heavy call volumes, have limited staff, and need to maintain constant call coverage. Other benefits include: calls are answered immediately, caller determines their destination, caller may return to main menu to make other selections without hanging up and redialing, call may obtain information 24 hours a day, seven days a week and SDM's can be custom-designed.
