Authorization Codes at University Park

If your department has multiple users sharing a single line, Authorization Codes (Auth Codes) allows a way to track and bill back long distance and international calls to a specific user instead of a generic phone line. Auth Codes also allow a user to make long distance and international calls from a telephone that is restricted to local or on-campus calling. By dialing the Authorization Code Access Number (175) followed by the seven-digit Auth Code, the line is (temporarily) changed to a level where long distance and international calls can be completed and charged against the Auth Code.

Any placed long distance calls, using an Auth Code, will be billed to the budget associated with that code. For current usage rates, see Long Distance Direct Dial Rates.

** Auth Codes should be kept confidential to prevent unauthorized Long Distance calling on a restricted line.
