University Park Voice Mail System

Instructions for renewing your security code after it has been re-set by the TNS Network Operations Center

After your Voice Mailbox Security Code has been reset by the TNS Network Operations Center, you will need to call into the voicemail system and create a new 4-digit Security Code for your ID. To do this, please follow the instructions below:

NOTE:   BOLD TEXT indicates user action required.

  1. Dial the Voice Mail access number:  5-7000
  2. Listen for the prompt:
    "Please enter your ID Number."
    Enter your assigned 6-digit ID Number
  3. Listen for the prompt:
    "Please enter a new Security Code for your mailbox. Security Codes must be between 4 and 10 digits in length. Valid digits are 0 through 9. New Security Codes must be different from the current and previous Security Code and may not match the mailbox digits. To maintain system security you are required to change your Security Code on a regular basis."
  4. Listen for the prompt:
    "Enter your new 4-digit Security Code, then press #."
    Enter your new 4-digit Security Code, then press #.
    Note: If you are using a Merlin telephone, you must press the # sign twice (##).
  5. Listen for the prompt:
    "To confirm, reenter your new 4-digit Security Code, then press #."
    Re-enter your new 4-digit Security Code, then press #.
    Note: If you are using a Merlin telephone, you must press the # sign twice (##).
  6. You have now successfully re-established a new security code. The system will state that the "Greeting is on." and prompt you to make a selection.
  7. To end the voice mail session and exit your mailbox, press 9 9. The system will say "GOOD-BYE."
  8. The next time you call in to the voice mail system, you will be prompted to enter your ID. You must enter your permanent 6-digit ID plus your new 4-digit security code.
