Wireless LAN Service


Description:

TNS is the service provider for the University's wireless network called "Penn State Wireless". Penn State Wireless services are provided to colleges or departments that wish to have ITS design, implement and maintain the entire wireless LAN, including access points. The Penn State Wireless Assist service provides an easy and secure method for interconnecting a new or existing wireless LAN which is owned/maintained by the college or department to the Penn State Wireless network using state-of-the-art encryption technology. Academic and administrative units wishing to inquire about the Penn State Wireless services should contact TNS through the web service inquiry form (Special Projects Design Request Form) or call (814) 865-6580.

Services Charges and Lead Times:

Total lead time from receipt of TSR to an installed working wireless LAN is 18 weeks (2 week LAN design, 8 week RF design, 8 week installation).
