NEW FEATURES PROVIDE DIRECT TRANSFER & ACCESS TO VOICE MAIL

ITS is pleased to announce new express messaging features for the TNS maintained voice mail service. These additions to the Voice over IP (VoIP) Unity voice mail service enable faster and more immediate ways to transfer calls and access voice mail. Unity voice mail subscribers can now use the new Direct Transfer to Voicemail feature to directly transfer a call to another person's voice mail box, and not ring their phone. In addition, by dialing the Unity express message number, 36200, voice mail subscribers can instantly deposit a message directly in to another Unity subscriber's mailbox without having to call in to the Unity system and log in. These new features are standard and available on all VoIP phones and provide a quick way to leave messages for people without ringing their phones or logging in to their mailbox.

Step-by-step Instructions for using the new features are below:

DIRECT TRANSFER TO VoIP UNITY VOICE MAIL ~ 36200 To transfer a caller directly to another person's VoIP Unity Voice Mail

  1. Press Transfer (the caller is placed on hold)
  2. Dial 36200
  3. When prompted, dial the 5-digit extension followed by #2 (e.g., 54700#2) to send the caller directly to a user's voice mail box
    The caller will be transferred directly in to third party's Unity voice mailbox and will hear their personal greeting.
  4. Press transfer
  5. Hang up

UNITY EXPRESS MESSAGING ~ 36200
Provides a quick way to leave messages for people without ringing their phones or logging in to your mailbox.

To use Unity Express Messaging ON campus:

  1. Dial 36200
  2. When prompted, dial the 5-digit extension (e.g., 54700) to directly access a user's voice mail box
  3. Wait for greeting to finish, or press # to bypass
  4. Record your message and hang up

To use Unity Express Messaging OFF campus:

  1. Dial 814-863-6200 and repeat steps 2-4 above.
