Satellite Downlink Design

Description:

Downlinks enable the viewing of "public domain" free satellite teleconferences offered by various programming sponsors, and are shown via satellite analog C or KU Band. C and Ku-Band dishes are the 7 to 10 foot diameter dishes that rotate and can be pointed to designated target satellites in geostationary (meaning they follow the same point on the earth as it rotates) orbits.

TNS will design satellite downlink systems and install designed system at all campus locations. Maintenance will be provided on TNS designed and installed systems.

Academic and administrative units wishing to obtain Cable/wiring services for their voice, video, or data transmission needs should contact TNS through the web service inquiry form (Special Projects Design Request Form) or (814) 865-6580.

Service Charges and Lead Times:

A Telecommunications Service Requisition (TSR) form  is required to initiate the installation process. Installations are charged on a time and material basis. Estimates can be provided as requested.
