ITS RADIO PAGING SERVICE TO BE DISCONTINUED JUNE 30, 2008

Effective June 30th, 2008, the one-way Radio Paging Service offered by ITS at the University Park campus, initially created a decade ago to afford economical availability of localized paging services, will be discontinued. This is due to the growth of commercial service availability and to the pending cost of continuing operation and unavoidable upgrades to the system currently in place, particularly in light of the small number of those groups still utilizing this "individual good" service. Those organizations which do still utilize ITS's service and which are in need of information about commercial offerings, are encouraged to contact their ITS Consulting at http://css.its.psu.edu/cs/itsanalysts.html, who can discuss a number of options based on commercial service providers, including steps to migrate to a new service provider, switching from the analog one-way paging service to digital paging service, etc.
