Using Authorization Codes in TNS Videoconference Rooms

The telephone lines in Telecommunications and Networking Services Videoconference Rooms are restricted. However, an Auth Code will override the restrictions on the line in order to place a long distance call. The cost of the call will be billed to the budget and fund to which the Auth Code is assigned.

Using Authorization Codes:

To Place a Long Distance Telephone Call

• Press Audio Call button on the keypad, listen for dial tone
• Enter access code 175
• After hearing the special dial tone, enter the 7-digit Auth Code followed by the # key
• Wait for dial tone
• Enter telephone number (enter all digits required to place the call from any unrestricted phone at University Park)

To send a Long Distance Fax

• Load document face down on Fax machine
• Enter access code 175
• After hearing the special dial tone, enter the 7-digit Auth Code followed by the # key
• Wait for dial tone then enter telephone number (enter all digits required to place the call from any
• unrestricted phone at University Park)
• Press START

To Place a Long Distance Data Call

• Plug in the modem line
• Load your communications software
• Type in the following string of information

175 + comma + 7-digit Auth Code + comma + 8 + 1 + area code + telephone number

(outside 814) 175,7777777,817033848888
(within 814) 175,7777777,83949999 {do not enter 1 or the area code}
